CMS makes plans for Agile Center of Excellence

U.S. Dept. of Health and Human ServicesThe Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are partnering with a firm to create an Agile Center of Excellence, which will foster enterprise-wide adoption of agile best practices, according to GCN.

The Agile Center of Excellence will provide a strategic framework for agile adoption and offer training and support for the entire agency, which will help CMS better address the agency’s changing IT needs in the evolving health care environment.

From the article:

[The firm] will be working with CMS’s Office of Information Technology on a strategy that fits in with the agency’s existing programs and missions. While bringing agile development to smaller projects is easier to implement . . . the adoption at CMS requires a larger-scale approach.
