Website Ad Hoc

Ad Hoc creates government digital services that positively impact the lives of millions of people. We’re looking for a content strategist to help us share our story with a variety of audiences. You will work with technologists and subject matter experts from across the company to develop content, like blog posts, and shape the voice of our corporate communications. This position is in the Technology Department and reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

What You’ll Do:

The Content Strategist will produce content and content strategies that express and reinforce Ad Hoc’s brand. They are responsible for:

Writing and marketing content for Ad Hoc:

  • Ownership of the blog, including supporting authors in the company, and working with design resources for art direction
  • Ownership of Ad Hoc social media accounts
  • Elevating Ad Hoc’s visibility and evangelizing our values in the gov-tech marketplace
  • Researching, writing, and editing content modules that can be reused in different contexts, including proposals, the website, marketing handouts, presentations, and customer demos

Developing processes and strategy for teams to gather, write, edit, and publish new content:

  • Working with the co-founders of Ad Hoc and practice directors to establish the Ad Hoc voice, key messages, and branding themes, and to surface compelling content
  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of corporate communications

Support Ad Hoc staff in their writing and speaking:

  • Serving as a resource for Ad Hoc staff who are developing content and presentations
  • Supporting HR through editing company policies for plain language
  • Supporting internal communications with editing and writing assistance

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4-6 years experience (or significant accomplishments) writing external communications such as blog posts
  • Capabilities at a tactical and strategic level: equal parts “doer” and big-picture thinker, in order to help us develop compelling content that supports a broader narrative
  • Self-directed approach; able to prioritize and manage work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional people, writing, and communication skills, with openness to ideas and feedback from others
  • Ability to work remotely
  • General understanding of product management, design, engineering, and user research, and how they interact
