As more and more citizens rely on web-based services, the role of the public sector product owner is critical to a more effective government.

“The product owner is the person on a project who represents the business and user community,” said Mark Vogelgesang, Innovation Specialist at the General Services Administration and a co-author of the course. “My experience as a product owner within the federal government shows that when customers are empowered by having their own voice on a project, it allows a beautiful balance to form between the developers, managers, and users, resulting in products that actually deliver what is needed.”
