Survey: Agile and security are top-of-mind for state CIOs

NASCIOBusiness Wire and NASCIO report that agile development and cybersecurity preparedness are areas of intense focus for government technology executives, according to the yearly surveys released by Grant Thornton Public Sector.

As CIOs work to modernize the government IT environment, agile methods are gaining traction and security is becoming a top concern.

Every interviewee at the federal level indicated they are using Agile in some way, compared with nine percent who were not using it at all last year. At the state level, 81% anticipate increased use of Agile or incremental software development approaches in the coming 12 to 24 months.
